DISCOVER MY STORY
Welcome! I’m Pamela, a visual artist specializing in single line ink drawings, pet portraits, my WILDlife series, and abstract art in acrylics. With a lifelong love of photography and a passion for capturing the beauty of life, I strive to create artwork that is both distinctive and emotionally resonant.
Originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana, I moved to Lake Norman, North Carolina from Colorado in 2020. My dream of becoming an artist began when I was ten years old and—after a lifetime of experiences in family, teaching, ranching, and creative exploration—it became my full-time profession at age fifty-five.
I studied photography at McNeese State University, where I also developed skills in surveying, architecture, and drafting—disciplines that continue to influence my precision and line work today. My signature single line ink drawings have become a hallmark of my style, especially my portrait of Frida Kahlo, each created in permanent ink using one continuous contour line without lifting my pen—a process I affectionately refer to as my “OCD-ness.”
Having completed over 80 commissioned pet portraits, I’ve built a strong following and referral network. My pet portraits combine oil on canvas with vibrant acrylic backgrounds, and social media has connected me with more requests than I can keep up with!

My WILDlife Series showcases vibrant acrylic animal paintings on black canvas, featuring bold outlines and expressive energy—eye-catching statement pieces that bring life and color to any space.
In recent years, I’ve fallen in love with abstract art. After decades of realism and photorealistic techniques, exploring abstraction has become my new creative “zen.” My large-scale acrylic abstracts have quickly gained popularity for their energy and depth, reflecting both freedom and experience.
Beyond creating, I’ve always found joy in teaching art, both privately and in public settings. I currently teach adult classes at my art gallery and studio in downtown Davidson, where I also exhibit and sell works by other talented artists.
While many advise artists to “focus on one medium,” I’ve never followed that rule. I often have several projects in progress—each in a different medium and mindset. That artistic diversity has shaped my creative philosophy, helping me cultivate a loyal base of collectors and a steady flow of commissions through referrals.
Art, for me, is a reflection of life—layered, evolving, and beautifully diverse.
